hkmusic are now proud sponsors of the Music Video Mash Up (MVMU). This unique event, organised by our good friends at Ground Floor Pictures, matches up local bands & filmmakers at random. The challenge is to work together and make a music video, to one of the band's pre-recorded songs, over the course of a long weekend.

hkmusic will be awarding the best songwriter in the competition a recording package worth over $1000. The official launch will be held in Queen st Mall on the 30th of April. To register or find out more details please visit the official MVMU site at: www.mvmu.com.au

Matt Walsh and Josh Dwyer have been in the studio doing pre-production and getting ready to record a full length album in the hkmusic studios.

The songs for the album have been finalised and you should be hearing a great sounding record within a few months. We're looking forward to commencing guitar tracking next week, after finishing the drum tracking earlier this week.

hkmusic was asked to compose music for a series of Griffith University internet video for international students. There were three 10 minute videos and you can check them out on the projects page. Thank you to Ground Floor Pictures for choosing hkmusic to compose the music for this project.

Local Brisbane band 'The Wolf At Your Door' have brought their brand of post-rock influenced creations to the hkmusic studios to record a three song EP for promotion. The final product sounds great and you can check it out on their myspace by following the link:

hkmusic has been nominated for an award in the 'Queensland New Filmmakers Awards'. The film 'Origami' was nominated for the 'Griffith University Award for Best Original Script', and the score, composed and produced by hkmusic, was nominated for 'The Australian Film Television and Radio School Award for Best Original Screen Music'.

There will be a screening on the 1st of August to showcase all of the short listed flims. The screening will take place at the Regency Cinemas on Queen St Mall in the Brisbane CBD and the presentation of the awards will occur at the Tivoli on Friday the 7th of August.
